The Greene County Fair kicks off Monday and will feature a week of events and fun for all ages.
The Greene County Fairgrounds Ann Gaut Expo Building was bustling Saturday as members of the public brought in perishable items, such as vegetables, flowers, and other homegrown or homemade goods, in hopes winning a blue ribbon during the fair.
The theme for the 76th Greene County Fair is “Red, White, and Moo,” a nod to America’s 250 birthday and the fair’s agricultural roots
Greene County Fair Board President Rick Clark said Sunday that the fair would be marking the 250th milestone all week long.

Clark said that Greene County Fair has seen an uptick in youth engagement in recent years, and he credits much of that to the Junior Fair Board that was established in 2022. In addition to new events through the Junior Fair Board, over 700 exhibits were entered into the Greene County Fair this year for judging through Greene County 4-H. That is a record number of youth exhibits for the fair.
Clark noted that more youth engagement boded well for the future of the Greene County Fair.

It takes countless dedicated volunteers of all ages to make the Greene County Fair happen each year. On Saturday, the fairgrounds were buzzing with volunteers including Fair Board members, Junior Fair Board members, 4-H members, Greene County Partnership Youth Volunteers, and more.
Clark said it takes virtually a whole year of preparation and planning to put on the Greene County Fair. While 2025 marked a special 75th edition of the Greene County Fair, Clark said that Fair Board members and other volunteers wasted no time in beginning to work just as hard to put together the 76th edition of the fair. Clark expressed gratitude for everyone involved in making the annual fair a reality.

The 76th edition of the fair will feature Bart Long and Associates special Clydesdale horses each night of the fair, which will be a new addition for the fair.
The week’s entertainment lineup will include Greene County natives Ryan Coleman, Baylee Lynn, and Derek Casteel. The fair will also feature the annual Fairest of the Fair competition on Monday night, a demotion derby on Friday and Saturday, and livestock shows throughout the week. The ever-popular carnival will be open each night at the fair to provide thrill rides and fun.
Clark said the fair will have something for everyone to enjoy.

The Greene County Fair will be open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Admission to the fair is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-11 and free for children 5 and under.
