UPDATE: The TWRA reported Tuesday afternoon that Molina’s body was recovered from Douglas Lake.
The Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad and other area squads have been called to assist in recovery of a body from Douglas Lake.
The TWRA says 22 year old David Molina of Knoxville jumped from a Pontoon boat into the lake near Point 7 in the Muddy Creek area and never resurfaced.
The accident occurred around 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Emergency crews have continued their search operations since that time.
Greene County native and TWRA Captain George Birdwell says the department is doing everything possible to locate the missing boater and bring closure to the family. He said Monday they had been unable to pinpoint an exact location where the victim entered the water and currently have a very large search area. The search will continue as conditions allow.
