A motorcyclist was taken into custody early this morning on the East Andrew Johnson Highway.
Police observed a white Harley Davidson motorcycle with a loud exhaust turn onto Snapps Ferry Access and reportedly run a stop sign before it accelerated at a high speed.
Officers caught up with the driver at Waffle House around 1:30 this morning. According to the report, the driver had a strong smell of alcohol on him, and he admitted to driving the motorcycle.
He was informed of the traffic violations. He then refused to give the officer his name, or any other identification. He was taken into custody and identified as Camren Marshall of Democrat Road in Mohawk. A records check showed he did not have a motorcycle endorsement with his driver’s license. At the jail, Marshall refused to do field sobriety tests, and refused to give a breath or blood sample for testing, as well as refused signing the implied consent form.
A search warrant for Marshalls’s blood sample was requested and received, and a blood sample was obtained by the nurse at the Detention Center.
Marshall was charged with numerous traffic violations and Violation of Implied Consent.
