Two men face Aggravated Assault charges for allegedly waving what turned out to be a replica Glock in the direction of three other persons.
A Greeneville Police Department report says officers responded to the Publix parking lot just afternoon 5 pm Sunday in regard to unlawful display of a firearm.
Upon arrival, three women reported a vehicle driving erratically in the parking lot. The driver of the car was identified by one of the complainants, who said the man waved a gun around before leaving the parking lot. After calling 9-1-1, the women followed the suspects, at which time the passenger reportedly pointed the gun at their car.
Police intercepted the vehicle in the South Main and East McKee Street area and conducted a consensual search of the car. An airsoft replica Glock 19x was located. Due to statements provided by the victims related to them being placed in fear, Michael S. Keffer of Middle Creek Road, Afton and Randall L. Littrell of the Horton Highway were both charged with Aggravated Assault. Both were held at the Greene County Detention Center pending a Sessions Court hearing today.
