Several Greeneville firefighters completed Rope Rescue Operator Training last week.
Mayor Cal Doty mentioned the training Wednesday morning following Partnership Leadership Panel Sessions at the GEA building. The course was hosted by the Sevierville Fire Department and focused on advanced rope rescue techniques used in both low-angle and high-angle emergency situations.
Firefighters Hunter Creech, Trevor Tweed and Dustin Barr, along with Captain James Foshie and Lieutenants Mike Reed and Michael Kinser represented Greeneville during the intensive training.
Over several days, participants received hands-on instruction in essential rescue skills, including rope systems, mechanical advantage setups, patient packaging, and strategies and tactics considerations for technical rescue. This type of specialized training ensures that our firefighters are fully prepared to respond to complex rescue scenarios.
