Officials confirmed yesterday that there are no survivors at the site of the munitions factory explosion that rocked Bucksnort, Tennessee, Friday morning.
The focus at the plant, Accurate Energetic Systems or AES, has turned to recovery, according to a press conference headed by Humphreys County Sheriff, Chris Davis. At the time of the press conference, the numbers of probable victims and been updated to 16. The process of identifying the victims will take time, due in part to the size of the blast site and the massive debris field.
The FBI and ATF are among the agencies conducting investigations into the cause of the blast. On the scene were what officials called “an elite” ATF team of highly trained experts, which would be taking the lead on the investigation.
