After 35 years at Towering Oaks Baptist Church and 50 years in the ministry, pastor Dr. Tommy Pierce delivered his final message at the church Sunday morning.
Entitled Goodbye, Moses, using Psalm 90:12 and Deuteronomy 33-34, Pierce spoke to the congregation for the final time as pastor prior to his retirement.
The service included comments from Greene County Mayor Kevin Morrison and and the presentation of a picture and proclamation.
A “passing of the baton” will be held next Sunday as new pastor Dr. Jeremy Roberts his wife Charity and their two daughters from Arkansas will be introduced. Robert’s father in law Tony Crisp will preach during the special service.
A Retirement Reception for Pastor Tommy Pierce will be held at the church on Sunday, October 19 from 4:30 until 6:30 pm. Letters of gratitude may be dropped in the box outside the main foyer.
