While flags are at half staff due to the murder of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, today September 11 will forever remain a day to remember.

The new Principal at the Greeneville Career and Technical Academy is Josh Davis, who was an ETSU student at the time, and remembers where he wanted to be when classes were cancelled for the remainder of the day.

Greene County Sessions Judge Ken Bailey was a first year practicing attorney in 2001 and was in a Jefferson County courtroom that morning. Bailey headed back home when court was adjourned for the day without reason. He found out on his radio car what had happened, and says he couldn’t get home quickly enough.

Local businessman and current Tusculum Mayor Alan Corley also spent 21 years as Chief of the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department.
