A local resident reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department Saturday he had been the victim of a phone scam.
He reported he starting sending money to a person identified as “Carrie Underwood” who texted him and was in need of money. The man reports he sent $170 in total to “Underwood”, who promised he would be paid $50,000 when she got paid.
The man, now realizing this was a scam, filed the report with the Sheriff’s Department.
