A man listed as homeless on a Greene County Sheriff’s Department report, was taken into custody Wednesday morning in Greeneville.
While on patrol around 6:30 am, Deputy Daniel Love said he observed a man lying in front of the door to the Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad building on West Church Street.
The man , later identified as Joseph T. Holdway, became verbally aggressive while being questioned and became physical with the deputy as he was being handcuffed.
NCIC confirmed Holdway was a fugitive from justice in Georgia and was taken into custody to await extradition.
