The Town of Mosheim Fire Department is lacing up for the 11th Annual Tri‑Cities 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, a community event that pays tribute to the 343 FDNY (Fire Department of the City of New York) Firefighters who died at the World Trade Center.
Unlike a competitive race, the stair climb is a symbolic ascent that involves each participant covering the equivalent of 110 stories which is the full height of the Twin Towers.
Firefighters from the Town of Mosheim Fire Department will not only be paying tribute to FDNY firefighters by participating in the climb, they will also be completing a symbolical heroic journey to save others.
Taking part requires a minimum $110 donation, representing one dollar for each story climbed. All proceeds support programs that aid the surviving families of fallen firefighters and fund safety initiatives for first responders nationwide.
Through firefighter and public participation, the community can ensure that each of the 343 firefighters that perished in 9/11 are honored and the world knows that we will never forget
