Randy Davenport attended Tuesday’s Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission meeting as Planning Administrator for the final time, while Ginny Kidwell presided over the meeting for the first time as Chair.
Davenport says there has been lots of growth in the area and more is on the way.
Davenport is retiring after five years with the Town of Greeneville following 35 years with Vaughn & Melton.
Kidwell replaces Lindy Riley as Chair following the end of Riley’s time on the board in June.
Agenda items dealt with by the board Tuesday included:
Approval of subdivision of property near the Pelican Lane intersection with West Main Street. Five plats will be used for duplexes or single family dwellings. The approval requires a barrier around an old cemetery nearby so as not to disturb that property.
The commission also granted preliminary and final approval for combining several internal lots into one on the Christ United Methodist property on South Main. The city also plans to quit claim an adjacent piece of property to the Church. The properties involved in the changes also include the area affectionally known for decades as “The Hole”
Combination of two parcels on Serral Drive property was also granted where Steven Ellis with Summit Engineering says a dog day care facility is planned.
