Records are made to be broken. And while Joey Chestnut’s world record of 76 was never in jeopardy, the five time defending champion of the Greeneville American Downtown Hot Dog Eating Contest tasted defeat on Saturday.
With ten dogs and buns eaten, Georgia native Kyle Rowland gobbled up the $200 first prize while reigning champ Brad Broyles scarfed down his career low nine and had to settle for second and $100.

The annual event is sponsored by Top Dog Hot Dog Stand man John Price.
