This summer, the LIHEAP Outreach RV will be traveling throughout our region to provide on-site assistance to those who need help with their energy bills.
LIHEAP is a federally funded program that assists low-income households with their home energy bills, helping families stay safe and comfortable in their homes year-round. Nationwide, LIHEAP serves about 6.7 million households each year.
To ensure fairness and follow Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) guidelines, the program uses a priority point system to allocate limited funds. Unfortunately, this means some individuals who qualify may not receive enough points for immediate funding.
For those who do qualify, a payment is sent directly to the recipient’s utility company and applied as a credit to their account. Please note that payments can take 90 days or more to be processed. Until then, it is important to continue paying your utility bill to avoid disconnection.
Priority is given to households that are low-income, energy burdened, or include disabled individuals, seniors, veterans, children under age 6, or large families.

- Greene County Fair – Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
- Greene County Fair – Saturday, July 26, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- Food City on East Andrew Johnson Highway – Wednesday, July 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Towering Oaks Baptist Church on Buckingham Road – Thursday, July 31, starting at 7:30 AM.
