An intersection that has seen better than its’ share of motor vehicle accidents as of late was the scene of yet another late Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency personnel responded to the 5:25 pm call on West Andrew Johnson Highway at Emerald Road, near Food Country in Mosheim.
Sgt. Shane Matthews with Mosheim Police says a westbound Peterbilt owned by M&W Transport of Nashville, struck a KIA Forte which pulled from Emerald Road into its’ path. The truck struck the car on the drivers side. Multiple airbags deployed in the car.
The driver of the KIA, Leroy Harold Sanders, Jr of Thornwood Drive, had no visible injuries and did not complain of pain, even though the car had to be cut to free him from the wreckage. He was taken by EMS to the Johnson City Medical Center just as a precaution to be checked out. He turned 93 today.
The Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad, Greene County EMS, and Town of Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
