Following a warrant check out of Sullivan County , Greene County deputies Thursday morning responded to a Swan Acres Lane residence.
There they located 46 year old Bobby Joe Gross who was wanted on a Violation of Probation charge in Sullivan County.
However, an NCIC check showed Gross to be what was described on the report as an “active sex offender”.
Given that Gross has sexual offender information that did not list his Greene County address, he was taken into custody for violating that requirement.
Previously he had lived on the Washington County side of Bill Mauk Road in Chuckey.
The report indicated that two children, ages 10 and 3, were also living in the home with the suspect.
