A Greeneville man was arrested on Saturday for aggravated assault and child abuse following an incident at his Wilson Hill property.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded around 8:15 PM Saturday following an altercation between the resident, Robert Britton, and juveniles on his property.
The victim, a 14-year-old, said he was walking away from Britton, who then allegedly grabbed the juvenile from behind by his throat, slammed him to the ground, and held him down by his throat.
A witness recorded the entire incident. According to the report, the deputy observed the video and the altercation occurred the way the victim described it. The video showed the incident then ended when Britton let the victim up.
In the video, the victim did not turn toward Britton to incite an altercation and was apparently not a threat to Britton.
Britton was arrested for aggravated assault and child abuse.
He made his initial court appearance on Monday and is free after posting bond.
