Although not quite the pomp and circumstance of the ribbon cutting a week ago at Kinser Bridge on Highway 107 in Greene County, ribbon cutting ceremonies were held Friday underneath the shadows of the new Taylor Bridge on State Route 81 in Washington County.
The bridge opened last Saturday without ceremony, but today Governor Bill Lee was among those in attendance just over eight months after flood waters from Hurricane Helene destroyed the the bridge on State Route 81 near the 107 Highway intersection.
Also speaking prior to the ribbon cutting were TDOT Commissioner Butch Eley, State Senator Rusty Crowe, State Representatives Tim Hicks and Rebecca Alexander and Washington County Mayor Joe Grandy.
