The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported Thursday afternoon that Greene County’s unemployment rate in April was 3.8 percent, down from 4.2 percent in March.
Greene County’s rate in April 2024 was 3.3 percent.
The unemployemnt rate in April 2025 decreased in 94 Tennessee counties, with only Unicoi County reporting an increase. Williamson County had the lowest rate at 2.2 percent, while Johnson County had the highest at 5.1 percent.
The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in April was 3.5 percent, down from 3.6 percent in March.
