An overturned semi on Snapps Ferry Road and another strong storm which moved through the area late Tuesday afternoon created traffic issues and power outages around the area.
Wind overturned the semi in the 4700 block of Snapps Ferry as the storm was rolling through the area.
Several utility poles and trees were downed in that area as well due to the high winds.
GEA Operations Director Robert Keller told Radio Greeneville News this morning the poles in that area are back in place. Another traffic issue was on East Andrew Johnson at the Erwin Highway, where the signal lights were inoperable at one time and one traffic signal was down to the road.
Just two days removed from getting the area power supply returned to all its customers , GEA crews were back out last night and overnight with over 2100 customers without electricity. Just before Noon today, that number was down to around 230 and falling. The largest number of outages this morning are in Mt. Pleasant and Mosheim where several trees were down on primary wire and several poles need to be replaced as well. The largest outages last night were in the Chuckey Doak and Newmansville areas, possibly due to the Snapps Ferry issues.
