The Tennessee Highway Safety Office and Tennessee Highway Patrol hosted a news event with local law enforcement in Johnson City Tuesday to announce, “100 Days of Summer Heat.”
The purpose of this campaign is to reduce traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities across East Tennessee during the summer months.
Participating agencies will collaborate for multi-jurisdictional initiatives, like sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols, to increase drunk-driving enforcement and crack down on other dangerous driving behaviors.
Increased enforcement will take place across the area.
