A Camp Creek area double wide home was destroyed by fire early this morning, a fire apparently started by a lightning strike.
A resident on Rambo Road reported a loud boom just after midnight and saw lightning consistent with a lightning strike. A short time later they began smelling smoke and discovered a neighboring home in the 400 block of Bishop Loop on fire.
Units from the Camp Creek, Tusculum, Sunnyside Volunteer Fire Departments and Debusk Volunteer Fire Department rehab responded.
The homeowner reported to the Sheriff’s Department no one had live in the house since around November when it was listed for sale.
Emergency personnel cleared the scene around 2:45 am. Fire investigator Lieutenant David Love is investigating.
