Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies have recovered more remains along the Nolichucky River.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, remains were discovered in the 2000 block of Highway 107 along the Nolichucky River Thursday. Evidence at the scene indicates this is a flood related death.
The investigation is ongoing and the remains were taken to the William Jenkins Forensics Center for an autopsy.
Washington County Sheriff’s investigators identified the body found in the Nolichucky River on April 11 as that of 53 year old Dion Barnes.
They did not believe that death, unlike the latest one, was related to the flood waters from Hurricane Helene.
