The Town of Greeneville is searching for a new parking attendant downtown, because Police Chief Steve Spano says the current one will soon become a new Greeneville Police Officer.
Tai Edmonds was hired ten months ago as Parking Attendant, and according to Parking Authority Chair Tim Teague has done a great job monitoring downtown parking.
But the opportunity to be a full time Police Officer led to the offer to join the Department.
Edmonds will begin transitioning to his new job in June and begin official in July with required training. But in the meantime the search for his replacement is underway. The Police Chief has posted the job on the Town of Greeneville website under the Employment link. Those potentially interested in the job can even apply on line or click on the link below:

As part of the day to day activities of the position Edmonds told authority members during their meeting this morning that striping in the College Street lot has begun to fade as have numbers in Crowfoot Alley and the Snapp Lot.
The Parking Authority is also evaluating the lot where some spots are reserved and some others offer unlimited free parking. Since only 38 of the 66 available spots are currently reserved, plans are to discuss with Public Works making the vacant ones two hour only free parking in an effort to create more available spots in that busy downtown area.
