Ron P. Metcalfe, president and CEO of Radio Greeneville, received the Excellence in Media Award from the Emergency Management Association of Tennessee. The award was presented at their annual conference held this week in Murfreesboro.
The statewide award recognized Metcalfe and Radio Greeneville for their dedication to emergency management. In particular, for their consistent efforts to keep the public informed with accurate, real time information during the flooding caused by Hurricane Helene in September 2024.
Metcalfe was presented the award by Tennessee Emergency Management Agency Director Patrick Sheehan. In attendance was Heather Sipe, director of Greene County EMA, Letisha Ricker, Greene County EMA operations officer, as well as Greene County Mayor Kevin Morrison, Town of Greeneville Mayor Cal Doty, Greeneville City Administrator Todd Smith and Jeff Taylor, president of the Greene County Partnership.
Morrison said Ron’s tireless work for all the citizens of Greene County was recognized in this award, adding that he has been and continues to be a positive force for recovery.
