The Greeneville City Board of Education has approved the $2,000 state allocated one time bonus for its teachers.
By a unanimous vote, the board approved the bonus for over 200-plus eligible employees.
The City School System will also give $2,000 bonuses to all other full time teacher certified and non teacher certified employees. Also a $1,000 bonus for all part time non teacher certified employees.
The bonus, a part of the Governor’s voucher program, does not require the school system to support the overall program in order to accept the money but does require school board action. Schools systems across the state have until the end of June to either accept or deny the funding.
The Greene County Board of Education approved the bonus for its teachers last month.
