By unanimous vote, the Greene County Board of Education Thursday approved a $2,000 bonus for all certified personnel in the school system who were not a part of the one time State funded bonus through the Governor’s plan.
The board also approved a $1,000 bonus for all classified personnel.
At the March meeting, the board approved accepting the state bonus for the county teachers. But board member George Frye requested Director of Schools Dr. Chris Malone study options for giving all employees not covered under the state bonus some type of financial gift as well.
The additional money would come from the county school fund balance.
Malone announced the plans as part of the budget development for the 2025-2026 school year.
