Rows and rows and room after room of well organized and categorized books and lots more await book sale visitors.
For the final year , the book sale will be at the Greene Valley site at 163 Edens Road.
This big event is a major fundraiser for the library.
Greeneville, TN – The Greeneville/Greene County Public Library is excited to invite the community to its highly anticipated Annual Book Sale, the largest fundraising event for the library of the year, as well as to register for the Library’s colorful and creativity-filled 2025 Summer Reading Program.
This year’s book sale will be held at 163 Edens Road and will span three weekends, offering thousands of books, CDs, DVDs, and more at unbeatable prices. The sale kicks off the weekend of April 25–27, with hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday. During this opening weekend, hardback books and media items will be priced at just $2, and paperbacks at $1.
A half-price weekend will follow on May 2 and 3, offering even deeper discounts, with hours remaining 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. Finally, on May 9 and 10, the ever-popular bag sale will take place—shoppers can fill an entire bag with books for only $3. This is a great opportunity for readers of all ages to stock up while supporting the Library’s ongoing programs and services.
Coinciding with the final day of the book sale’s opening weekend, on Sunday, April 27, the Library will also open registration for its Annual Summer Reading Program, which officially begins on May 27. This year’s theme, Color Our World, celebrates the joy of reading through art, storytelling, and hands-on creativity. The program runs for six weeks and is open to children and families, with activities designed for ages 3 and up. Registration will be available on the library’s website or in person at the library’s circulation desk.
Weekly events for children and families will be held on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, beginning May 27 and continuing through July 1. These events will take place at the Library’s main location at 210 North Main Street and will feature special guests and fun, educational activities to keep young minds engaged and inspired throughout the summer.
In addition, a separate Teen Summer Reading Program will be offered on Thursday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 4:00/4:30 PM, running from May 29 through June 26. This series is specifically tailored for older readers and will provide unique, interactive experiences to spark imagination and curiosity.
