An arrest was made early this morning for drug and narcotics possession.
Just after midnight this morning, police noticed an S.U.V. in the McDonald’s Drive-Thru on the Asheville Highway, driven by someone showing to have an expired license. Officers had the driver, identified as Lauren Jeffers of Afton, exit the vehicle.
A K9 officer showed a positive alert on the vehicle, and a probable cause search reportedly yielded a small baggie of suspected Meth, a small baggie of suspected heroin, a cut straw, four pipes, and two syringes inside of a white bag.
Jeffers was transported to the Greene County detention center, charged with possession of Methamphetamine, Schedule One Drug Violations, unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, and driving on an Expired Driver’s License.
