Oak Ridge 12, Greeneville 4
The Greeneville baseball team travelled to Oak Ridge on Wednesday and took a 12-4 loss at the hands of the Wildcats.
The Greene Devils managed 10 hits in the game, but struggled to get runners around the base path. Carson Norris was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Sam Thompson was 2-for-3 and Noah Murray had a double.
On the mound Norris threw 2 2/3 inning and took the loss. He struck out two, walked four, and allowed five hits.
The Greene Devils used a total of five arms on Wednesday. They gave up a combined 15 hits and walked six batters.
TENNIS
The Greeneville tennis team picked up a pair of wins over Northview Academy on Wednesday afternoon.
The Greeneville boys won 8-1 and the girls won 6-3.
In boys single Jack Lampe beat Isaac Ruttkay 8-0. Dominic Tweed beat Justin Riley 8-0 and John Chapman beat Dallas Love 8-1. McCormack Cutchall and Jackson Peters won by forfeit.
Northview’s Dean Luu beat Luke Davis 8-5.
In doubles Lampe and Tweed beat Ruttkay and Riley 8-1. Peters and Cutshall beat Luu and Love 8-4.
In girls singles Greeneville’s Emma Sauceman beat Sydney Cole 8-0. Brylee Catron beat Megan Underwood 8-0, and Genna Renner beat Hannah Anderson 9-8 (7-5).
Northview’s Courtney Ellerloe beat Grace Lampe 8-6. Savannah Clifford beat Riley Rhea 8-6, and Yoseline Luna beat Emma Light 8-3.
In doubles Greeneville’s Sauceman and Catron beat Cole and Underwood 8-2. Lampe and Renner beat Anderson and Ellerloe 8-0, and Greeneville’s Rhea and Light beat Geneveve Knapp and Yelina Selyvova 8-4.
