Keep Greene Beautiful Director Jessie Beth Miller recently started a volunteer committee for anyone who wants to work on community projects in Greene County.
The next volunteer committee meeting is Wednesday, April 16 at 4:30 pm at the Greene County Partnership. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
One of the biggest projects the committee has been working on is scheduled litter pickup days. Miller said the first one held last month was successful, with volunteers filling up around 16 gallon trash bags from the Kiser Boulevard area.
The next scheduled litter pickup day will be Monday, April 14 from 10 am until noon. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Greene County Fairgrounds and will pickup trash in that area leading to Snapps Ferry Road.
Several more litter pickup days will be held through November. Miller said the volunteer committee will determine the locations at future meetings and decide which areas need the most attention.
