A name synonimous with a Greeneville business for nearly four decades has passed away.
Jimmy Loven died Monday at the age of 78.
Jimmy was Co-owner of Loven Ready-Mix for 38 years. Along with his brothers, Loven manufactured and delivered concrete from Wilmington, NC to Clinton, TN. In 1967 he moved to Mohawk to manufacture concrete for the construction of Interstate 81. After completion of the Interstate, Loven moved to The Ball Metal project in Greeneville. With the help of Doc Kilday, Jimmy and his brother, Joe, chose to set a permanent concrete plant location on Industrial Road in Greeneville. From 1970 – 2004 the company expanded to nine locations and 125 employees. Jimmy and Joe sold the company in 2004.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Greeneville.. The family will receive friends following the Celebration of Life in the Simon Fellowship Hall.
A graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13th at Pineola Presbyterian Church, Pineola, NC.
