A motorcyclist was transported by EMS to the Johnson City Medical Center following a two vehicle crash Wednesday night around 7:20 pm on the 70 By-Pass at the Old Knoxville Highway intersection.
Allen Casteel was injured when his Suzuki JS1 struck a car operated by Elmer Miller. Miller was not injured.
According to the report by investigating Greeneville Police Officer Matthew Jersey, witnesses say the motorcycle , traveling at a high rate of speed on the 70 by pass, struck the Miller car as he pulled from the Old Knoxville Highway. Miller said he did not see the motorcycle until it was too late.
The accident report listed Casteel with suspected major injuries. Casteel himself posted on his social media page early today pictures of the accident scene, saying he was “gonna be alright”, then listed his injuries , saying it was going to be a long recovery and thanking God for watching over him.
