A High Wind Warning is now if effect for Southeast Greene County, as well as other mountainous areas in East Tennessee.
The warning will be in effect until 11 am on Thursday.
In the higher elevations , south winds will be 20 to 40 miles per hour with gusts up to 70 miles per hour.
The National Weather Service says damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Residents in the affected areas are reminded to remain in the lower levels of their home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.
