Rising senior wide receiver / defensive back, Zaydyn Anderson of Greeneville, has been offered a scholarship by the University of Tennessee following his Junior Day invitation to Knoxville. Anderson was recently placed on a national watch list that ranks prep players across the country. The exposure from PrepRedzoneTN has created a recruiting frenzy for the All State Athlete. Tennessee’s offer is the first Power 5 conference offer and the 12th Division 1 offer overall. Aside from Tennessee, Toledo, Indiana State, Troy, Arkansas State, Colorado State, Eastern Kentucky, Memphis, Liberty, ETSU, Ball State, Middle Tennessee State, and Austin Peay (the 1st offer) have shown an interest and have offered Anderson.
In his Junior campaign at Greeneville, Anderson hauled in 28 receptions for 713 yards and 11 touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 4 interceptions and returned two of those for touchdowns. Anderson was named the Region 1-4A athlete of the year and named All State as both a wide receiver and defensive back.
Anderson is the epitome of the term athlete at Greeneville High School. Aside from his football accolades, he is a member of the basketball team that advanced to the Final Four this season and earned a State Championship for the track team in 2024.
Anderson becomes the third overall athlete at Greeneville to have received an offer or will be playing for the University of Tennessee. Senior Kyla Jobe will wear the Orange and White next season as a member of the Lady Vol softball team and Junior basketball stand out, Trey Thompson, at two time Mr. Basketball finalist, received an offer from UT this winter.
