The Greeneville City Board of Education has extended the contract of Director of Schools Steve Starnes through the 2025-2026 school year.
In recommending the extension, School Board Chair Cindy Luttrell said Starnes, whose current contract would have expired next February, has agreed to complete next school year before his planned retirement.
Starnes was hired as Director of Schools in April of 2018. Before then he had been the Director of Schools in Hawkins County for four years. He has been in the education field for over 35 years.
