The national weather service out of Morristown has issued a wind advisory overnight tonight, an Elevated Fire Danger for this afternoon and early evening.
Additionally, a RED FLAG WARNING is in effect from Noon today until 9:00 PM tonight.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are occurring now. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Relative humidity values will drop into the 25 to 35 percent range over much of the area this afternoon. In addition, winds will become westerly around 10 to 20 mph in most locations with gusts up to 30 mph expected, and 45 mph possible. These conditions will lead to increased fire danger.
With these conditions, any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
