Two men scheduled for trials this week in Greene County Criminal Court, have instead entered pleas and were sentenced on Monday.
24 year old Nathaniel Lynn Crum of Heritage Road North entered an Alford plea before Judge Alex Pearson and was sentenced to 18 years in prison with the possibility for release after serving 30%.
Crum was charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder during a drug deal at a North Loretta Street residence on October 30, 2023.
Crum will also serve guilty pleas on one count of reckless endangerment and two counts of aggravated assault concurrently with the attempted murder convictions.
31 year old Robert M. Knight of Hilltop Drive, Jefferson City was sentenced to serve 100% of an eight year sentence as part of his best interest plea for vehicular homicide , evading arrest and other charges following a motor vehicle crash which resulted in the death of 22 year old Tanner Horn of Rogersville.
Horn was a passenger in a car operated by Knight which crashed on West Andrew Johnson Highway in Bulls Gap while being pursued by officers. Both were thrown from the vehicle. Horn died at the scene.
