A proclamation declaring April 13-19 Public Safety Telecommunications Week was read during the Monday County Commission meeting.
9-1-1 Director Jerry Bird and many of his 9-1-1 operators were on hand for the proclamation. Local 9-1-1 was also recognized for fielding 2200 calls during the two day period in September when floods as a result of Tropical Storm Helene hit the area.
A proclamation was also read for Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Gwen Southerland with the local Isiaha House was present for the reading.
Another proclamation was read for National Donate Life Month in April.
The North Greene Agriculture Issues Class also made a short presentation of their debate to be used in state competition later this year.
