LOTS OF ROAD WORK
When we prepare this “The Week Ahead” segment, more times than not it’s about upcoming events but since I’ve been granted editorial control of this segment, we can also look ahead to things you might not hear on the news this week, but are ongoing projects such as plans for road repair city and county wide. That also includes plans by the town of Greeneville for future paving projects (TDOT pending) in the Church and Main Street and Shiloh Road areas. During the Legislative Luncheon Friday at Tusculum, Greeneville Mayor Cal Doty was addressing plans moving forward to improve traffic flow and safety, especially in the growing East Andrew Johnson Highway area. Now Cal has been a long supporter of my work on the Vol Network and I consider him a friend, hopefully we still will be after I let you hear this funny moment during the luncheon Friday as it relates to plans to deal with those traffic issues.

The Greeneville Planning Commission meets again on Tuesday and the City Council again on the 18th. I’ll let you know if I’ve been banned.
MORE HOUSING ON THE WAY
By the way , if I do get to attend the Planning Commssion meeting Tuesday, we will be able to tell you more about plans for that DR Horton housing development on Whitehouse Road which would initially bring another 100 housing units to the city, with the potential for 100 more later.

WEATHER FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
Weather wise , it looks like a good spring like week with day times 60s ever close to 70 by midweek. But for those of us who have lived her forever, it’s East Tennessee, you never really know. And for those new to the area, it’s East Tennessee, you never really know. In the meantime, enjoy this photo I took from Tusculum University Friday with some cloudy sunshine and the snow capped mountains.
