Multiple fire departments responded to a call Wednesday of an out of control woods and grass fire.
The call came in at 3:28 PM at Greene County 911 dispatch reporting the fire at 2765 Houston Valley Road.
Cherokee National Forest Firefighters responded to the call as did the South Greene, St. James, and Debusk Volunteer Fire Department. By 5:15 PM, the majority of the fire had been contained.
The Tennessee Division of Forestry brought in a bulldozer in efforts to protect the surrounding homes and woodland.
Approximately 10 acres were burned.
