A Greene County man’s identity was reportedly stolen by two people working for a food delivery company.
The complainant reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department she has medical power of attorney over the victim, who she said has dementia. The woman said they received a 1099 form for the victim regarding paying taxes on earnings through the company.
The victim was discovered to have given the suspects a copy of his ID sometime in November 2024 so they could work for the company after being locked out of their account.
The complainant recently contacted the company and requested the account be closed, but the suspects are still believed to have access to the account.
The two suspects previously lived with the victim and the complainant said she has not been able to make contact with either of them.
