Officers found a man wanted for Violation of Probation, when trying to serve another warrant Saturday afternoon.
Police were at Hillcrest Street around 4:15 Saturday to serve a warrant, and spoke to a male in the driver’s seat of a white S.U.V. in the front yard. The man was identified as Tyler Holland of Babbs Mill Road in Afton, who was showing to have a Violation of Probation warrant.
According to the report, Holland was placed into custody, and post-Miranda reading, told an officer he had drugs in his pockets. Police located a bag containing approximately 2.5 grams of suspected heroin, and half-a-gram of suspected meth. Also found was a glass pipe, scale, and about 100 baggies in the passenger seat.
Holland also had a Taurus handgun on his side that was confirmed stolen out of Cocke County. He was transported to the Greene County Jail without incident, charged with Receiving or Concealing Stolen Property, Possessing a Firearm During a Felony, Felony Sale or Possession of Methamphetamine and other Controlled Substances, as well as other charges.
