Emergency personnel responded to a head on collision in the 5600 block of the Kingsport Highway around 11:40 pm Monday.
One person was air lifted after having to be extricated from one of the vehicles.
In addition to the Tennessee Highway Patrol , others responding were the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Newmansville and Tusculum Volunteer Fire Departments , Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad and EMS.
Authorities cleared the scene around 2:30 this morning.
