An Asheville Highway man reported more than $3,000 in cash stolen from his wallet after he dropped it at a gas station.
The victim reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department that he dropped his wallet at the Creekside Market on Asheville Highway on Wednesday afternoon. He said the wallet contained $3,150 in cash.
According to the report, the victim watched video footage from the store, which showed an older man with a long beard pick up the wallet. The man was seen taking the money out before tossing the wallet back toward the gas pump.
The video footage will be provided to the sheriff’s department. The investigation is continuing.
