In Greene County Criminal Court, a 36 year old man entered an Alford Plea to a statutory rape charge last week.
Brian Joseph Pierce was sentenced to two years with all time suspended except thirty days. The Alford Plea, includes a judicial diversion if he completes terms of the deal. As defined , an Alford Plea is a guilty plea whereby a defendant in a criminal case does not admit to the criminal act and maintains ones innocence. Appearing before Judge John Duggar with his attorney Alex Chesnut, one count of aggravated statutory rape was dismissed. The other aggravated statutory rape charge was reduced to statutory rape.
According to court documents, the incident involving Pierce occurred on or around October 6th, 2023.
