The new county wide track and field facility at Doak is planned for not only use by all the Greene County teams, but as another location for those in the community and possibly nearby Tusculum University.
The plan was approved by the Greene County Commission Tuesday along with tennis court renovations at South Greene, Chuckey Doak and North Greene, as well as two new tennis courts at Chuckey Doak.
Will the community will be invited to use the track during hours when events are not going on, the facility will allow Greene County Track and Field teams to hold home meets at the location next to Tusculum City Park behind Doak Elementary School. Tusculum University also does not have an official “home track” but due to the location basically across the street from Doak, it’s believe the University as well could host home meets there. The Pioneers currently use the GMS track for some practices.
