The local Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of a fire at Ellenburg’s Car Wash and Auto Sales on Mason Street, off Tusculum Boulevard reported at 6:52 Wednesday night.
A Greeneville Fire Department report this morning from Battalion Chief Eric Price says while the cause of the fire was not immediately known, it originated in a storage area, igniting fiberboard, particleboard and hardboard. Several units from the Greeneville Fire Department responded to the scene along with 19 firefighters.
The fire was brought under control around 8:10 pm. All units had cleared the scene by 10:20 pm
The report estimated the value of the property at $87,900. Contents of the building were listed at $50,000.
