Despite Big Lots being sold to Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, the Greeneville store will apparently not be staying open.
A banner simply stating CLOSING is attached to the store facade today in the Plaza Shopping Center at 1475 E Andrew Johnson Highway
After the company had announced in December all stores would be closing, the proposed sell to Gordon Brothers led to Variety Wholesalers Inc. planning to acquire 200 to 400 Big Lots stores and operate them under the Big Lots brand.
The Greeneville store, based on the signage, will not be one of them. In an attempt to determine when the local store will close, calls to the store today went unanswered.
