A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect for Greene County from 10 AM Friday until 7 AM Saturday.
Jeanie McDermott with the National Weather Service in Morristown told Radio Greeneville News that snowfall is expected to start around noon on Friday and will continue through Saturday morning. She anticipates the heaviest snowfall will occur in the evening and overnight hours, with a total accumulation of 2-4 inches.
McDermott added that with the recent cold temperatures, accumulation is expected to begin almost immediately when snow starts falling early Friday afternoon.
